On October 23, 2013, CT REIT completed its initial public offering raising gross proceeds of $263.5 million. The offering was underwritten by a syndicate of underwriters with RBC Capital Markets and CIBC acting as joint bookrunners. A portion of the proceeds of the IPO were used to acquire 256 Canadian Tire retail operations across the country for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $3.5 billion.
