Katey has completed her second year of law school at Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta, double majoring in Political Science and Psychology.

Prior to attending law school, Katey moved to Toronto with her two horses to train dressage at the under-25 Grand Prix level. Her training took her to Florida for three months in 2022 where she competed at the international level.
