Jacqueline’s client-focused approach ensures that she anticipates the legal needs of key clients, offering tailored advice across various industries and legal issues.
Jacqueline’s expertise is applied across commercial matters, corporate transactions and litigation. Areas of focus include corporate governance, regulatory compliance, insurance (including director and officer and fidelity policies), administrative and Crown law, trust issues, contract and statutory interpretation, to name a few. Her proficiency extends to crafting compelling legal arguments for high-stakes commercial and insolvency litigation, as well as delivering complex legal analyses and opinions or targeted advice on important client mandates. As a pivotal member of the Osler insolvency team, Jacqueline specializes in insolvency and restructuring, where her innovative and pragmatic solutions are crucial for clients facing financial challenges.
Her leadership role on Osler’s Opinions Committee and as the co-editor of the Osler Legal Outlook reflects Jacqueline’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of legal scholarship and practice.
Before joining Osler, Jacqueline clerked for Justice Peter Cory at the Supreme Court of Canada.

- Advised a major financial institution regarding legal issues arising from open banking activities.
- Provided advice to a key market player regarding the regulation of digital assets as “property”.
- Providing ongoing advice and litigation support for class actions against major pharmaceutical companies respecting opioid products.
- Assisted in defence of class action against major insurer with respect to business interruption insurance claims arising out of COVID-19 shut-downs
- Advised numerous multi-national market participants regarding Canadian gaming regulatory matters.
- Advised numerous clients regarding scope of available insurance coverage, including where insured is in distressed financial circumstances.
- Represented a major lender in connection with receivership of Bridging Finance.
- Provided litigation and transaction support to Just Energy Group regarding Canadian insolvency proceeding resulting in $1.1 billion recapitalization transaction.
- Advised Nordstrom Inc. in connection with wind-down of Canadian operations.
- Acted for Credit Suisse AG in its capacity as agent for the first lien lenders in the insolvency proceeding of Dominion Diamond Mines ULC.
- Advised Deutsche Bank AG in its capacities as pre-petition lender and DIP lender in the insolvency of Essar Steel Algoma Inc.
- Provides ongoing advice to Nuclear Waste Management Organization in relation to mandate to address Canada’s nuclear waste.
- Supported the defence of a multi-national vehicle manufacturer in connection with diesel emissions investigation.
- Providing ongoing assistance to a European ride-hailing company regarding launch of Canadian operations.
- Key member of team that successfully defended claim for recognition and enforcement of a fraudulently obtained Ecuadorian judgment against Chevron Corporation for billions of dollars.
