Rebecca Garner is an associate in the Emerging and High Growth Companies Group and the Venture Fund Group in Osler’s Vancouver office. Her practice focuses on advising venture capital managers on all aspects of fund formation and structuring.
She supports clients through every stage of the fund lifecycle—from drafting limited partnership agreements and negotiating side letters, to managing investor relations, governance issues, and regulatory compliance.
Rebecca also acts for venture capital funds in their investments in early-stage and growth companies, advising on deal structuring and negotiating transaction documents.
Rebecca earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa, graduating magna cum laude. Prior to joining Osler, she spent more than seven years in the start-up ecosystem as both a founder and a service provider. This background gives her a practical, business-oriented perspective and allows her to deliver advice that is not only technically sound but also grounded in the commercial realities of the venture space.
