Sergey Stefanishin is an associate director of Osler Works – Transactional, a service that uses cutting-edge technology, streamlined processes and skilled legal professionals to support our deal teams and clients largely in the context of transactions. Sergey oversees a team of lawyers and paralegals in providing due diligence and closing related services.

Sergey possesses over 20 years of international legal experience, including 12 years in executive roles both in professional law firms and in-house. He started his career at Baker & McKenzie Moscow office where he spent five years advising the clients on corporate and telecommunications law. Then Sergey moved to a boutique Russian law firm specializing in space and telecom matters, focusing, in particular, on space tourist flights and commercial and scientific use of the International Space Station, and then joined a Danish law firm as a head of the Russian practice, where he worked for another five years. After that Sergey became a transaction law leader and partner at EY where he has been specializing for over seven years in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and corporate governance. Prior to moving to Canada, Sergey also served as a General Counsel of DHL being responsible for ten jurisdictions in Eastern Europe.
