Osler is pleased to announce the addition of 11 new partners and three new counsel across our offices in Toronto and Montréal, effective March 1, 2026.

Toronto
The Toronto office welcomes eight new partners: Alina Tamm (Tax), Arielle Kaplan (Corporate), Carrington Hickey (Employment and Labour), Evan Barz (Disputes), Lauren Harper (Disputes), Jeremy Wu (Corporate), Melanie Simon (Employment and Labour) and Warren Ng (Financial Services).
Alina practices primarily in Canadian domestic and cross-border income tax law. She advises on tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, debt and equity financing, cross-border transactions and international taxation, as well as tax dispute resolution.
Arielle practices corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on investment funds, asset management and mergers and acquisitions. She acts for managers of investment funds organized as trusts, corporations and limited partnerships on public and private offerings, fund mergers and ongoing governance matters.
Carrington advises clients on general employment law matters, including workplace policies and investigations, employment standards, human rights, hiring, terminations and accommodations. She represents employers in disputes and advises on the employment law aspects of corporate transactions and restructurings.
Evan advises businesses, landowners, property managers, municipalities and other clients on land use planning, development and environmental matters, including renewable energy projects, permitting, contaminated site remediation and general environmental regulatory compliance. He also advises clients in litigation concerning environmental and land issues.
Jeremy’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities, emerging companies and general corporate matters. Jeremy advises clients across a range of industries on public and private M&A deals, public offerings and private placements of securities, as well as other strategic transactions.
Lauren maintains a general civil and commercial litigation practice, with an emphasis on corporate and securities litigation, class action defence and commercial arbitration. Her practice also includes a wide variety of corporate and commercial litigation, including shareholder disputes, corporate governance and oppression claims.
Melanie advises employers and management on a wide range of issues in labour relations and employment law, including employment contracts, employee terminations, employment standards, grievance arbitration, human rights and workplace accommodation, occupational health and safety, workers’ compensation and corporate transactions.
Warren’s practice covers areas of corporate, financial services and securities law, with an emphasis on corporate finance, structured finance and securitization. He acts for financial institutions, alternative capital providers, issuers and borrowers on debt offerings, restructurings, and financing and other transactions.
Montréal
The Montréal office welcomes three new partners: François Laurin-Pratte (Disputes), Jean-Philippe Dionne (Tax) and Jeremy Perron (Pensions and Benefits).
François’ practice covers various areas of civil, commercial, administrative and constitutional law, specializing in complex legal research and the drafting of legal opinions, appeal briefs and plans of argument.
Jean-Philippe focuses on domestic and international tax planning for corporations and individuals, including estate planning. He advises clients on the tax considerations and issues related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings and reorganizations, and compensation of directors and officers.
Jeremy advises employers on a wide range of matters, including employment and consulting agreements, executive compensation, employment policies and standards, restrictive covenants, human rights, restructuring solutions, terminations and workplace investigations, as well as the employment and labour law aspects of corporate transactions.
New counsel
Osler is also proud to announce the admission of Toronto-based associates Alexei Kovalev (Real Estate), Lucas Versteegh (Franchise and Distribution) and Nick Guadagnolo (Corporate) to the role of counsel, effective March 1, 2026.
Alexei advises on the acquisition, disposition and financing of commercial real estate, as well as land use planning and development issues.
Lucas focuses on franchising, distribution, retail and general commercial matters. He helps franchisors navigate the complex regulatory environment of Canadian franchising law and its implications for Canadian systems, as well as U.S. brands expanding into Canada.
Nick’s practice is focused on executive compensation, employee benefits and employment law issues.
