On September 19, 2017, Right-Health announced the acquisition of Akira Medical. Right-Health will continue to operate the Akira platform under its original name, while founders Dustin Walper, Taha Bandukwala and Matt Zukowski will join Right Health in leadership positions. The Akira team brings further advanced technology and product expertise and strengthens Right-Health’s presence in Canada.

Akira Medical is an on-demand mobile healthcare platform that provides patients in Canada with instant access to healthcare practitioners via text and video chat.

Right-Health is a Toronto-based healthcare company that provides a combination of virtual and in-person care optimizing the health and engagement of patients.
