On May 12, 2023, Smart Centers Real Estate Investment Trust announced that it has priced an offering of $300 million aggregate principal amount of 5.354% Series Z senior unsecured debentures on an agency basis. The debentures are being offered by a syndicate of agents. Scotia Capital is the lead left bookrunner, CIBC Capital Markets, Desjardins Securities, RBC Capital Markets and TD Securities are joint bookrunners and BMO Capital Markets, National Bank Financial, Mizuho Securities, HSBC Securities (Canada), Canaccord Genuity, Casgrain and iA Private Wealth are co-managers. The debentures will mature on May 29, 2028. The net proceeds will be used towards general corporate purposes.
