On August 3, 2021, Hootsuite announced it acquired artificial intelligence chatbot startup Heyday for $60 million. The acquisition allows Hootsuite to tap into social media-based e-commerce.

Hootsuite is a Vancouver-based social media management platform. The system's user interface takes the form of a dashboard, and supports social network integrations for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.

Heyday is a Montreal-based conversational AI platform that enables brands to deliver personalized customer experiences through 1:1 messaging conversations.
