Sven Poysa

Sven has significant experience in all areas of employment and labour law. He advises national and international companies on legal and strategic HR issues, including executive employment arrangements, corporate transactions, individual terminations, facility closures, workforce reorganizations, insolvencies and restructurings.

Sven regularly advises a wide range of private and broader public sector clients on labour and employment compliance issues, outsourcings and program and service integrations. Sven has significant experience in collective bargaining matters, including union successorship issues and strategies. He regularly represents clients in judicial and administrative proceedings, with a focus on human rights, rights and interest arbitrations, mediations, workers’ compensation, employment standards, occupational health & safety, collective bargaining and wrongful dismissals.

Sven has spoken and written on a wide-range of labour and employment topics and teaches Legal Inquiry at McMaster University.  Prior to joining Osler, Sven clerked at the Quebec Court of Appeal with Justice Joseph Nuss. 

Sven has been recognized by Chambers Global as an up-and-coming individual who capably manages complex nationwide mandates.
