Danna Donald

Danna Donald

Danna is one of Canada’s preeminent infrastructure and project finance lawyers. As a member of the firm’s Operations Committee, she brings more than two decades of experience steering the country’s largest, highest-profile project financings. Danna is widely recognized for delivering commercial, solution-oriented guidance on the market’s most complex transactions.

Her practice spans the infrastructure, energy, PPP, and digital infrastructure sectors. Danna acts as a trusted adviser to a sophisticated roster of clients—including developers, equity sponsors, government entities, institutional investors, domestic and international banks, and bond underwriters—on debt and equity investments, as well as critical commercial project development documents. As a leader of Osler’s Project Finance and Development team, Danna has structured some of Canada’s largest transmission and pipeline infrastructure, LNG, wind, solar, battery, and high-stakes data center projects. Notably, over the course of her career, she has financed over 6,000 MW or more than 25% of Canada’s installed wind and solar capacity.

Danna’s pragmatic approach and deep market knowledge consistently earn her top-tier rankings in leading global legal directories, including Chambers Canada, Chambers Global, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, Best Lawyers in Canada and IFLR1000. Deeply committed to mentorship and global advocacy, she is a Founding Member and Past Chair (2014–2016) of the Toronto Women’s Infrastructure Network (WIN) and served for over two decades on the board of Rescuing Our African Daughters (2004–2025).
