Susan is a corporate commercial lawyer in Osler’s Health Industry and Cannabis groups. Susan’s practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions and commercial matters in the health and cannabis industries. Susan regularly provides clients with strategic advice in respect of purchase and sale transactions, healthcare corporate restructurings and integrations, corporate governance matters, shareholders agreements, commercial agreements, outsourcing, clinical trial agreements and regulatory opinions in connection with federal and provincial health and cannabis statutes.
Susan has acted for a variety of health industry stakeholders, such as digital health providers, regulated health professionals, pharmacies, pharmaceutical clients, hospitals, shared service organizations, long-term care homes, medical device reprocessing entities, licensed independent health facilities, dental practices, not-for-profits and registered charities and a variety of other private health clinics and health providers.
In addition to regularly advising cannabis licence holders, Susan has assisted many other clients navigate Canadian commercial operations with cannabis licence holders, including in respect of commercial and service agreements and promotional and advertising activities.
In 2008, Susan was seconded to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. In 2013, Susan was seconded to a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and located in Geneva, Switzerland.
